Helpful tips for the Jabra M5390/M5390 Wireless Headset
Jabra M5390 Opertional FAQ:
"FOCUS DEVICE”: Headset “points” to a target device that will receive commands from the multifunction button (MFB) on the headset.
ACTIVE STANDBY MODE: Only TWO devices can have an active BLUETOOTH RADIO path at once
“ACTIVE DEVICE”: Only ONE device can establish an active AUDIO PATH at any given time.
Electronic Hook Switch (EHS) Mode:
- M5390 base unit ONLY supports RHL mode and DOES NOT SUPPORT EHS accessory cables
- A335w USB Bluetooth Adapter recognizes ON HOOK / OFF HOOK. IP Softphone such as Cisco IP Communicator, Microsoft OC and Skype would also have to support this in order for remote answer/end calling.
- Electronic Hook Switch (EHS) functionality can be supported if desk phone supports Bluetooth functionality (i.e., Nortel 1140E)
- SoftPhone EHS support is handled through the client application or PC Suite
M5390 LED Indicators:
- Solid Green = Active Standby: Bluetooth RADIO link active and audio is NOT ACTIVE.
- Flashing Green (Base & A335w) = powered on but no active radio or audio path
- Flashing Blue (All) = Bluetooth RADIO and AUDIO link are both active
- Headset LEDs “go to sleep” after about 1 minute
- Base and A335w acknowledges presence of headset via SOLID GREEN LED indication
M5390 Audible Indicators:
- Triple Ascending Tone = ON
- Triple Descending Tone = OFF
Wireless Range:
- M5390 and A335w – are both CLASS 1 devices (i.e., up to 200 feet)
- Most other Bluetooth devices are CLASS 2 device – i.e. up to 33 feet (i.e. Cell Phones, Blackberry, PC uplinks)- this will limit the overall M5390 range.
