I was curios about this product because I do not always keep my Bluetooth headset with me and I am in my car a lot and do not like the “corded” hands free options out there. When I opened the box I was surprised how big the SP500 is. I really thought that it was small enough to put in your shirt pocket. Let me just say that the size of this thing is great, not to big and it does not feel like a “cheap little speaker”.
The reason I bought this is because I wanted something that I could keep in my car that doesn’t stick out like a “sore thumb”. And I do not keep my Bluetooth continuously on so when I’m in the car, I do a quick “pair” and make my calls then when I leave my car the connection is cut from my phone. No problems – Oh and the battery time on the SP500 is great, Jabra states over 400 hours in standby. I have not charged it since I go it after the first charge which only took 2 hours. I plan on charging it once every 3 weeks.
O.K. more on the SP500, the sound on this speaker is great, the microphone could be a little more powerful. As long as you are directly in front of the microphone there are no problems with people hearing you. The volume control is very east to get to. I like it mounted to my sun visor. When I talk to people, they can’t tell that I’m on a speakerphone.
My phone has the voice activated dialing feature and the SP500 works just fine with it.
So far so good, I like this.
