We live in a scary world, . Everyone seems to be listening in on our personal conversations. It could be some juicy gossip, Game of Throne spoilers, or it could be government officials talking about who knows what. How many times have you been on the phone on hold and you forget that there is someone or something on the other end potentially listening to you? It may all seem like harmless listening. But what if you just committed a crime and you’re chatting with a accomplice? Often times, there is another person on the line listening/recording for “quality assurance.” Fear not, there are adapters that will prevent that nosy person/machine on the line from hearing your personal conversations. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been in the bathroom and wish I had a PTT connected to my phone. Sure, you could just press mute and turn it on and off constantly, but it’s a pain. Here we have a great PTT adapter. This adapter will work with any Plantronics H series headset. It’s as simple as plugging this into your deskphone/setup, and connecting the other end to the headset. Most government and military departments use something similar to this. This is a very secure setup, your customer will only hear what you want them to hear and nothing else. Depending on your phone/setup, you will need a specific adapter or connector to make these compatible with your setup. Make sure that you do your due diligence before you purchase this item. If you don’t feel like wearing a headset but still want to use PTT, here is another type of PTT you can use. Please note that this handset is phone specific. Again, same concept. You push the talk button to be heard. The person on the other end of the call will only hear what YOU want them to hear, nothing more. Extremely secure, most used by government and military. Last but not least, here is a PTT most commonly used for dispatchers. These plug into dispatch radio system and you have a WIRELESS PTT device! You again will need aPlantronics H series headset. to go with this, but it is a very cool device. It comes with a wireless PTT remote that you push to talk. Plantronics SHS2355-01 USB Push-to-Talk PTT Adapter
Last but not least. The SHS is a pretty cool device. Like the SSP 1051, this is a corded push to talk adapter that will connect to any Plantronics H series headset. Here’s the kicker, instead of plugging into a deskphone, this will connect to a USB device. Which leads me to ask, how secure can it be if it’s online communication? I’ll tell you what, from the headset through the SHS 2355 you will have an extremely secure conversation. What happens when that conversation hits the internet is out of my control. Either way, this is a really cool push to talk device.
There are several PTT adapters that connect to different devices and headsets. If you’re worried about people spying on your conversation, you’re probably not that interesting anyway.
