Yealink had delighted us with a new model for this season for remote workers in the shape of the new BH70 Bluetooth wireless headsets!
The new Yealink Essential BH70 Bluetooth headset is Yealink’s response for a comfortable, lightweight, rich sound quality Bluetooth headset. Thanks to its new and improved weight reduction of up to 20% compared with other brands and other models from Yealink itself, you can actually feel the difference once you wear the headset, making it so comfortable to be worn all day long. Thanks to its bigger earcup speaker on the Mono or speakers o the Dual of 35mm offers a full quality sound coming from the headset without performance compromise on sound quality this plus its 6 audio equalizers makes it a delight for use with the computer or mobile devices. Speaking about computer use, thanks to the included BT51 Dongle, offers one of the most reliable Bluetooth connections in the market with a range of up to 150 feet without any interruption.
Making the headset lighter doesn’t means that it would be weaker for a daily use, the Yealink BH70 offers a 50% of enhanced curvature angle and up to 27% of improvement on the clamping of the headset, which translates on a comfortable position for any size and shape of head and provides a lasting built in quality, all this thanks to Yealink’s studies and improves on their headsets.
Thanks to Yealink’s Acoustic Shield Technology 2.0 which consists of 3 microphones, which 2 are positioned on the microphone boom arm in order to catch the user’s voice and one located on the other end of the boom arm with the simple purpose of substracting the environment unwanted noises, creating the perfect balance for users concerned of loud unwanted noises such as loud fans, HVACs, loud chattering and more. Thanks to the latest version of Bluetooth 5.2, offers a reliable and steady connection with your computer or laptop using the BT51 Dongle, as have happened before with older versions of Bluetooth the connection starts fading out after the first wall when roaming around. But this is not the case of the BH70 with the BT51, the roaming becomes of up to 150 feet which perhaps for some will not be a lot of range, however after considering the steadiness of the connection even after going thru walls or having another Bluetooth enable devices close by makes the BH70 a champ for using with your computer on any of the UC platforms available in the market.
The BH70 headset offers fast charging thanks to the included USB-C to USB cable and with voice over USB feature, so the headset can be used as corded headset if by any chance the BT51 Dongle is not on hand or if the headset runs out of battery, which probably will not happen as the amazing battery talk time of the headset offers up to 35 hours in 1 single charge, which is one of the best features for users in need of a long lasting Bluetooth headset.
Yealink offers its innovative microphone boom arm that allows to mute the microphone by bringing the boom arm up/down, this feature allows to answer calls as well from your mobile device by bringing it down, useful when in need to answer a call without the hassle of guessing which key to press or if need to mute the microphone on last minute for an emergency such as a sneeze. A nice feature that is appreciated is that when using it with the mobile device, if a call is about to come in, you can hear the voice prompt “Incoming Call” before the ring of the mobile device, this allows users to be aware for example if hands are busy or need to move to a different location in order to answer the call.
The BH70 headset can be ordered as the Mono version for people looking for a lightweight headset for daily use and still in the need of being aware of the surroundings or as the Dual version, for users in need of a rich stereo sound quality without the compromise of a heavy headset for all day use.
Thanks to the voice prompts, it alerts when you are out of range of the computer or mobile device with a subtle alert as “PC disconnected” and when on range you will hear “PC or mobile 1 connected”, depending on the device that it had reconnected. The easy to use volume controls makes it an amazing ally when using them on a live call, and thanks to the before mentioned muting by bringing the mute up, allows to mute the mic in a snap of fingers.
The built in busy lights are going to be easily noticeable on the Mono or Dual version and with the Teams notification they can alert the user if any notification on Teams due to its exclusive light purple color LED. The notification color will be noticeable as well in the BT51 dongle, and the busy lights can be turned on at will using the Yealink USB Connect on the computer.
Yealink USB Connect offers 3 different moments of noise cancelation on the BH70, even if this headset doesn’t have Active Noise Canceling (ANC), the folks from Yealink offer customization on the sound coming thru the speakers for the best sound quality. These Moments are Office, Relax, and My Moment. This plus the capability of customize the equalizers for the best outgoing music sound quality!
A great new product from Yealink and with the most noticeable feature of being lightweight for all day use and at a really attractive price point when compared with the competition.
The not so great:
Even with a lightweight design, perhaps some people would not like having an over the head style headset even if covers just one ear. Once the headset goes to sleep mode and coming back to work the next day, you need to make sure the headset is paired not only to your computer but to your Bluetooth enable device by pressing the “pairing” key for 1 sec and to hear the voice prompt of “Pc connected” and “Mobile 1 connected”. Over all, this is an amazing headset which asks not much in exchange of a super performance. Get yours HERE.
