Jabra had recently updated and refreshed its Bluetooth headsets with the new Evolve 65 TE! And you can be wondering, what does the Evolve 65 TE means? Well the answer to this is that the nomenclature “TE” stands for Third Edition. That’s right! The Evolve 65 headset enters into its third generation and this time is easily noticeable as the Second Generation or Edition was deployed and only users with really good sight or tech savvy knowledge were able to notice some light differences. However, as they say “Third time is the charm”, with the Evolve 65 TE all the upgrades, differences and improvements are now easily noticeable, even for non expert users. We will analyze them next.
Here are both units, on the left side the Evolve 65 SE (Second Edition), and on the right the replacement, the Evolve 65 TE (Third Edition). The first thing you will notice is that Jabra is stepping away from the old Red/Black scheme design towards an All-Black design, this including the bright colors of the aluminum parts for a dark aluminum, making it look more sober, but professional. The main reason to this is to Jabra’s commitment to sustainability, with the new implement of less color Jabra continues with its hard work of improving the manufacturing of their products and leaving a less foot print when compared with the previous edition. This applies as well to its packing, avoiding the excessive use of non-renewable materials and printing colors for a better take care of our ecosystem.
Thanks to the EU USB-C mandate that entered now in vigor worldwide, Jabra had stepped in by giving the Evolve 65 TE a USB-C port, instead of the outdated Micro-USB that the first 2 editions had, this as Jabra’s compliance with the global standards and thanks to this allowing the Evolve 65 TE to be easily charged using any USB-C cord, that it can be the one used on a laptop, external hard drive, smart phones or even some home appliances.
Microphone and performance had not been downgraded and they still offer the well known Digital Signal Processing (DSP) on its noise canceling microphones, this helps the user to be crystal clear heard when on a call, without those annoying muffed or unrecognizable moments. The built-in busy light stays on same place and with same functions as before, as it is easily noticeable when on a live call. Call Controls including answer/end call, volume and mute are located on the same place, and thanks to its versatile design the Evolve 65 TE can be worn with the boom arm on either side, either the right or left, depending on user’s preference.
Now here is the menu for which Evolve 65 TE can be ordered:
If you want to cover only one ear, in a not so loud environment and allowing you to be aware of the surrounds, the way to go will be the Evolve 65 TE Mono, depending on the main platform used on your computer or mobile device, you can either go for the Evolve 65 TE MS, if your most used application is Microsoft Teams, as it comes with its dedicated Teams light warning for missing calls or messages. If you don’t use so often the Teams application, and you are more in the another platforms more often than Teams, the Evolve 65 TE Mono UC is your way to go. The UC

For end users with more space on their desk for their headset, is advised to go with the Evolve 65 TE Mono MS w/Stand or the Evolve 65 TE UC w/Stand, the headsets are the same as the ones with no stand, however the charging stand is a nice add on that allows to charge and even update the headset, thanks to its new USB-C port as well.
For louder places, where the user needs to block most of those unwanted noises around him/her, the solution would be the Evolve 65 TE Stereo model. Despite covering both ears, the weight and comfort of the headset when being worn is not compromised. Leatherette ear cushions and headband that feels like a pillow in your head and ears. Thanks to the noticeable Buys Light you can let people around you that currently on a live call without having to make any arm/hand expressions. sound quality from Jabra on its speakers and their well known noise canceling microphones that offer best performance on your Zoom meetings. For Microsoft Teams heave duty users, with maybe a couple of webinars or calls using their mobile devices, the way to go will be the Evolve 65 TE MS Stereo, as it offers its dedicated Teams Buys light color, that alerts users when a message on Teams comes in and allows the headset to launch MS Teams once the computer is turned on. For a more elegant an easier way to charge the headset, Jabra offers the variants of the headsets with their USB-C stand for charging and updating. These are the Evolve 65 TE UC Stereo w/Stand for the Unified Communications platform and the Evolve 65 TS MS Stereo w/Stand, designed for frequent use of the Microsoft Teams platform.
If for example, you misplaced your charging stand for your Evolve 65 TE headset, or you need a second one. Jabra offers this as an additional accessory! The Evolve 65 TE Charging Stand can be bought separately if needed, however this charging stand is only compatible with Evolve 65 TE (Third Edition) only. This means that the original Evolve 65 headsets and the second generation are not compatible with this, due to the USB-C port located in the stand.
Another improvements that we find on the new Evolve 65 TE headsets are that all of them include the new Jabra Link 390 and offers fast charging of full charge in less than 120 minutes from empty battery.
