These are the necessary cables must be used when connecting Plantronics wired or wireless headsets to the new Avaya 9600 family of IP Telephones:

• Avaya HIS-1 Cable for Plantronics H-series headsets with quick disconnect


• Avaya 9600 Hookswitch Control Cord for Avaya wireless headsets

Corded Headsets

To take advantage of the full wideband audio that is offered with the Avaya 9600 IP phones, the Plantronics SupraPlus Wideband family of headset is recommended along with the required Avaya HIS-1 cable. All other corded headsets will also work with the HIS-1 cable but will not offer the wideband sound quality as with the SupraPlus Wideband family of headset below:

2. Plantronics HW261N Binaural SupraPlus Wideband Noise Canceling 

Wireless Headsets

Connectivity on Avaya 9600 IP Phones In order to take advantage of full integration (no headset lifter) of Wireless headsets with Avaya 9600 Series Terminals, a 9600 Series Hookswitch Cord is required. Wireless Headsets that support full integration are as follows:

2. Avaya ABT-35+ Bluetooth Headset


3. Avaya AWH-75 Wireless Headset


4. Avaya AWH-75N Wireless Headset (w/noise canceling)


5. Avaya AWH-450N SupraElite Wireless Headset


6. Avaya AWH-460N SupraElite Binaural Wireless Headset

The Avaya 9600 Hookswitch cord is included in all AWH-75 Wireless and SupraElite Wireless headsets and will be included in the ABT-35 and AWH-55 Wireless headsets.
