If the audio level is too low in this position, adjust the headset volume control to increase the headset speaker volume.
If your speaking volume is too low for your listener in this position, adjust the position of the headset to make sure the microphone is two finger’s width from the corner of your mouth.
Note If you don’t hear an echo but your callers report an echo, adjust the configuration switch. The most commonly used position is “A”.
Q. I hear static when using the CS540. How do I fix this?
-
- Make sure there is at least 12 inches between your base and your computer, and 6 inches between your base and your telephone.
You may hear static as your headset is going out of range; move closer to the base.
Q. I don’t hear a dial tone in the CS540 headset. What should I do?
-
- Press the call control button to see if you hear a beep in the headset. If you do not hear a beep, try charging your headset. If you do hear a beep, the headset may no longer be linked to the base. Try re-subscribing the headset to the base.
If the problem persists, ensure the phone is off the hook. If using a handset lifter, make sure the lifter is lifting the handset completely off the hook.
If the problem still not fixed, pick up your handset and verify that you can hear a dial tone. If you do hear a dial tone on your handset, adjust the configuration switch on the base. If you do not hear a dial tone on your handset, then contact your company’s telecommunications department.
