Working from home is becoming more and more common in the work place. The employee needs to communicate from home just as easily as he does from the office.  The basic equipment needed is a telephone and a headset.  There are several solutions depending on whether or not the company provides you with a telephone or not.  With today’s VoiP (voice over internet) technology, the company will often provide the same phone (i.e. Polycom, Avaya, Cisco) as they have in the office. If that’s the case, simply purchase the same wireless office headsets or corded office headset as would for the office. If you don’t have an office phone.  Here are the best telephone/headset solutions for your home phone line:

Plantronics CT14 DECT 6.0 1.9Ghz Cordless Headset Telephone: One of the most popular home office cordless phone + headset we sell.  Simply plug Plantronics CT14the CT14 base in the phone jack (like you do with any home home) and it becomes a cordless phone with a headset attached.  You can dial and answer from the keypad that attaches to your belt or pants.  Walk and talk around the house hands-free up to 300ft away.  With the Plantronics CT14 you can be anywhere in the house (or the yard) and be able to answer any phone call that rings in the house, and of course make phone calls with the keypad.  The headset is convertible, so t
hat means it can be worn either over-the-head or over-the-ear.  The phone (keypad) has all the basic cordless phone functions such as caller ID, call waiting, phone book, etc.  Making it very popular among home office users.

Plantronics T110 Practica Headset Telephone:  The Plantronics T110 is the corded version of the headset + telephone.  It comes complete with a keypad and headset all in one.  It’s has a simple keypad and headset without many bells and whistles like the others model already mentioned here.  It does come with basic headset features like noise canceling microphone (in case if you have music on in the background for example). The keypad has basic functions such as re-dial, flash and mute.  At the price of only $99, it’s one of the most affordable models for the home office worker.

Plantronics T110H Telephone System

The Plantronics T110H is a single line phone that will connect to an analog line typically found in your home. It’s a good option if you don’t want to use a regular desk phone but still would like to use a headset. It’s a very simple setup, you plug it into your wall jack where there phone line is, then you connect a Plantronics H-series headset like this Plantronics HW540 EncorePro 540 Headset. It’s very simple, the T110H comes with a cable that plugs into the H series headset listed above. It’s a great option to save space on your desk. It will work the same as any standard desk phone, you have a dial pad, mute, redial, flash, volume controls, etc. You’ll have great sound quality and a noise canceling microphone. Comes with 2 year manufacturer’s warranty, click here to buy now.

Plantronics CS540 + TR11 analog adapter  (staff pick)

This is in my opinion is setup the best way to go for a home office. but it’s the most expensive.  You need 2 parts: Plantronics CS540  and Plantronics TR11 analog adapter  (The Plantronics TR11 adapter turns the Plantronics CS540 wireless headset into a “cordless phone without the keybad”.  You can walk around the house with the CS540 wireless headset (no cords attached) and answer calls anywhere 300 feet away.  The headset will beep when a call comes in, you answer by pushing  a button on the side of the CS540.  To dial out, simply pick up another phone in the house to call out.  The Plantronics CS540 is only weights 1 oz.  Super light weight.
