My favorite headset on corded USB style headsets will be this one, the Plantronics Blackwire 7225 USB Stereo Corded Headset, Black. This headset is the first one that has Active Noise Canceling, a boom-less microphone and busy light built into the USB plug. Available now in USB-A or USB-C , with built in audio controls to the headset, making it one of the best corded headsets in the market for computer use.

Covering both ear with an over the head design , helping the headset to stay in place even if you are moving a lot. Connected by the USB-A Bluetooth dongle (included), Built in control buttons and Busy light into the headset that gives you control on your phone call and let your co-workers know that you are in a live call.
My top choice in wireless headsets for Windows, the Plantronics Voyager 8200 UC Bluetooth Wireless Headset offers Active Noise Canceling, plus a boom-less microphone built in the ear cups, built in volume controls allows you to modulate volume, mute, pause/play and answer/end calls makes it a nice intuitive headset that can be easily used at work or down the road. One feature that the Voyager 8200 offers is the connectivity thru 3.5mm cable (included), making it my favorite in this list.
All of these headsets listed below have one primary goal. Their goal is to achieve clear communication for the user and the customer. None of these headsets will provide you with ultimate audio experience you might find with pure audio headphones that cost $300 and up. These headsets provide you with excellent communication, and as a bonus decent to great audio quality for listening to music or watching movies. If you travel a lot, make a lot of phone calls, and enjoy listening to music, below are some headsets that might work for you. They all include a Bluetooth dongle so you can connect it to a computer as well as a cellphone / tablet.
The Evolve 65 Stereo is a decent Bluetooth headset that will connect to a USB device and also a cellphone/tablet via Bluetooth. It has a nice noise canceling microphone and decent audio quality. You will get around 100 ft range (using dongle) more like 30 feet using cellphone and around 10 hours talk time. This headset wouldn’t be my first pick because the Evolve 75 is a much nicer headset for not much more money. Overall still a good headset. Click here to buy.
Out of all of the headsets listed here, this would be my pick. Why you ask? Because I own a pair of these and I love them. Great noise canceling microphone, active noise canceling earphones, and Hi-Fi stereo quality. You can’t compare any of these headsets to audiophile type music headsets. But again, that is not what they are for. Their primary goal is clear communication with customers and they achieve this goal and go beyond. When you have free time in between calls, The Evolve 75 is great headset to just relax and jam out to music. You will have around 100ft wireless range (dongle) and 15 hours of battery life. This will connect to a computer via USB and a Bluetooth device. Click here to buy now.
Here we have an interesting headset. They’re not truly wireless earbuds like the air pods, but they are better than them anyway. They have omni directional noise canceling microphones that will help pick up your voice clearly. They have active noise canceling ear buds, and good audio quality, but most importantly, call clarity. They are certified for Microsoft Skype for Business Open Office. Great for the on the go user that needs to be mobile and not be burdened with a bigger headset. Also if you’re afraid of losing wireless ear buds (I am), get these. Click here to buy now.
The Voyager Focus UC is Plantronic’s version of the Jabra Evolve 75. They have the active noise canceling earphones, great noise canceling mic, and around 12 hours of listening time. This headset would be my second choice to the Evolve 75. Again, the audio quality is very good, but not comparable to some high end audio only headphones. If you enjoy watching movies, listening to music, and still need to make professional calls, this is another great headset to have. This headset is suprisingly light for what it accomplishes. Click here to buy now.
Here we have more unusual type of headset. This is a circumaural type headset (goes over and surrounds the ears.) They have very nice audio quality, and 4 omni-directional noise canceling microphones. The odd part about this headset is that it doesn’t have a boom microphone like most over the head headsets have. Don’t fret, your customers will be able to hear you just fine. You have a tremendous 24 hours listening time with these! If you’re constantly in very loud environments and still want to hear your audio, buy these. Click here to buy now.
This headset is similar to the Jabra Evolve 65 Stereo but better. You have a nice noise canceling microphone and good audio quality. But like the Evolve 65, you don’t have any active noise canceling through the earphones. You have the same 100ft range as the others above, 15 hours music listening time, and they are very comfortable. This headset is certified for Microsoft Skype for Business Open Office. I would spend a little bit more money to get the Evolve 75 or the Voyager Focus. Still overall a good headset though.
Again, all of these headsets above are really great for phone calls, video chat, and conferences. They all have nice noise canceling microphones that you will not find on other audio headset or air pods. Out of all of these headsets, I like the Jabra Evolve 75 the best. The sound quality on top of the excellent call quality make them well worth the money. Considering how well these headsets do their job, their prices are well worth the money.
The Plantronics Blackwire 7225 is the first of the Active Noise Canceling corded headsets from Plantronics. Has a boomless microphone and offers a Hi Fi stereo sound quality for music. Plantronics Voyager 8200 UC Bluetooth Wireless Headset => my favorite wireless
The Plantronics Voyager 8200 UC is the latest (2017) addition to the Plantronics Voyager wireless headset line from Plantronics. It’s the first Plantronics with a “boomless” microphone. Don’t let the missing microphone fool you. The missing boom and microphone does not mean it was poor sound when you’re on the phone (or softphone). It has 4 total microphone, specially engineered and placed at different locations on the headset for optimal voice pickup. See below:
In addition, it comes with leatherette “circumnaural” ear cups and speakers to to surround both ears completely on top the active noise canceling technology to block out just about any background “unwanted” noise you have in your surroundings. it comes with a USB adapter for your PC/computer, so you can communicate wirelessly up to 100ft away. The Voyager 8200 is also a Bluetooth headset so you can pair it with your smartphone (like an Apple iPhone). so it can be used as a cell phone headset or simply use it as a great music headphone when you’re not working! Go HERE for more details.
As you are aware, the venerable 3.5 mm headphone jack so commonly found on cell phones, tablets and laptops is getting axed in a slow but steady pace. This transition started with the iPhone killing the 3.5 mm for the Lightening , HTC with their newest phones, Google with its Pixel2 and 2XL , among others in order to have a more compact and slim design.
The 3.5 mm transfers stereo analog audio out of the socket, which means that all the “magic” of nice sound will be credited to the same phone, on the other hand USB-C transmits the digital audio data over the same headsets instead.
With this being said, here are the best USB-C headphones you can get on the market today:
The Engage 50 Stereo headphone is one of my favorites thanks to its 3 microphone noise canceling, Intelligent Volume Control, slim design and built in busy lights. Headsets nowadays do way more than just using them for your desk phone. We have headphones that can now be connected to 5 devices at the SAME TIME. I’m talking desk phone + computer + cellphone. Pretty crazy stuff now. Anyway, here is a small list of some very nice headsets that will enable you to listen to music while you work.
The Plantronics Savi 8220 is the newest wireless headset on the market. This is the upgraded version of the already fabulous Plantronics Savi 700 series. The main difference between the old and new is the active noise canceling in the headset. That’s right, on top of all the same features of the old Savi, you will get more range, talk time, and active noise canceling for those loud environments. Because of the triple connectivity, you can enjoy streaming music to your headset when you’re not on a call. This is an excellent choice for a desk phone computer combo. 590ft line of sight range, 13 hours of talk time you can’t go wrong. Comes with a 1 year manufacturers warranty, click here to buy now.
The Voyager 8200 is one of the newest wireless headsets on the market. Even though this headset wasn’t designed for use with desk phones, we can still make it work. An interesting feature of this headset is the noticeable lack of a boom microphone. But don’t worry, your customers will still be able to hear you with the dual-paired (4 total) omni-directional microphones. This powerful headset has active noise canceling earphones and a great noise canceling microphones. You will get about 100ft of wireless range from a deskphone or computer. the 8200 has about 24hours of music/movie streaming. To use this headset with a desk phone, you will need an adapter. This will enable you to use this with your deskphone, computer, and cell phone. Pretty awesome huh? Comes with a 1 year manufacturers warranty, click here to buy now.
If you’re looking to save a little money but still be able to stream music to your head phones, this would be a decent choice. You will have triple connectivity, desk phone, computer, cell phone, but music quality won’t be as nice as the new Savi or the Voyager 8200. Another thing this headset lacks is the active noise canceling. This is still a great headset, but I’d recommend paying a little more and getting the Savi 8220. Comes with a 1 year manufacturers warranty, click here to buy now.
This is my favorite headset. I currently use the Jabra Engage 65 Stereo. Think of the Engage 75 as the big brother of the 65. This headset is absolutely beastly. You can connect this monster to 5 devices at the same time. 1 desk phone, 2 USB devices, and 2 Bluetooth devices. A bit overkill if you ask me, but hey, it’s better to have more than less. As I type this, I’m listening to some heavy metal, on my Engage series headset. Considering these headsets were not designed for the enjoyment of music, these are damn good quality speakers. This headset has the best wireless range, talk time, and just overall quality out of all the others that I’ve used before. If you want to save some money, you can always go for the Engage 65 Stereo. The 65 will only connect to your desk phone and your USB device, but that’s where we stream music from right?. Comes with a 1 year manufacturers warranty, click here to buy now.
The headsets that connect to desk phones are remote answer capable. There are tons of solutions out there for every phone. If you’re interested in purchasing one of these items and have questions, feel free to call or email me.

A Windows computer can only recognize one USB sound device at a time. So the computer cannot activate two USB headset at the same time. You can connect two USB headsets, but only one can be turned on.
There are no solution to utilize two USB headsets on a computer as training headsets. The reason is because your computer OS (Windows or Mac) does not recognize more than one USB headset at one time. This is a limitation of the computer OS.
With Quick Disconnect (QD), both Plantronics and Jabra (GN Netcom) have a training cable you can attached two headsets to one computer for training purpose

There are so many options out there, but I will list the ones that stand out most to me. The most important things to consider are the call quality and comfort. All of these headsets below are plug and play, and even someone like myself can install them. If you plan on sitting at the computer and don’t need to be mobile, I’d recommend getting a corded. If you need to be more mobile, or just don’t want to be tied to your desk, go wireless. Let’s begin shall we?
