You swap them by twisting the cushions off and on, and the built-in firmware automatically recognizes which type is fitted and adjusts the audio parameters to match.

In practice that's like owning a focused work headset and a lighter leisure headset in one purchase — over-ear for deep-focus calls in a loud space, on-ear for a relaxed afternoon of lighter listening. How the BH76 Plus performed in testing

It's one of the most comfortable headsets we've tested, and the retractable boom is the detail that makes it feel premium — the microphone arm hides fully inside the earcup for a clean, discreet look off-call, then pulls out to answer, with a satisfying tie between the physical gesture and the call action. Push the boom back in and it mutes; pull it out and it answers. The three ANC levels give real control over how much of the room you shut out, and the Acoustic Shield handled loud test environments convincingly.

Charging is flexible: use the included USB-C cable (and keep using the headset over voice-over-USB while it charges), a phone-style power adapter, or the built-in Qi wireless charging on the left earcup on any Qi pad. Dual Bluetooth connectivity means the pre-paired BT51 dongle handles your computer while the headset stays connected to your phone at the same time. Firmware and personalization run through the free Yealink USB Connect software, including "Moments" presets that tune ANC and EQ — one tip from setup: update the dongle and headset one at a time, or the update fails.

The good and the not-so-good

On the plus side: genuinely excellent comfort, the over-ear/on-ear switchable fit that's effectively two headsets, a strong three-layer noise story, the discreet retractable boom, 35-hour battery with fast and Qi charging, dual Bluetooth connectivity, and voice-over-USB as a wired fallback.

The honest trade-offs: this is a premium-priced headset, so it's an investment against simpler office models; it's a full over-ear design, larger and less pocketable than an earbud or mono office headset; a sealed over-ear with ANC can get warm over very long sessions (the on-ear cushions help); the Qi wireless charging stand is an optional accessory sold separately; and — importantly — it's a Bluetooth and USB headset only, so it won't connect to a traditional desk phone.
