Poly & Plantronics Headsets
Poly Headsets, Sorted by What You Plug Into
For a desk phone, the CS540 is a 21-gram wireless headset whose base plugs into the phone. For a laptop, start with the Voyager Focus 2. If you use both, the Savi 8240 connects to your desk phone, computer and mobile.
Plantronics headsets are sold as Poly now: Poly is the former Plantronics and Polycom, and HP bought it in 2022, which is why the newest models say HP Poly.

Poly Wireless Headsets
Poly's wireless range comes in two lines. Voyager headsets use Bluetooth for a computer and mobile, with the 4310 and 4320 as the everyday pair and the Focus 2 for loud rooms. Savi headsets use DECT through a base, which is how they reach a desk phone, and the Savi 7310 and 7320 skip Bluetooth entirely for sites that ban it.
Poly Wired Headsets
For a computer, Blackwire is the USB line, from the everyday 3300 series to the noise-canceling Blackwire 8225, and the HP Poly Mission 425 is the next generation of the Blackwire 3225. For desk phones, EncorePro is the corded quick disconnect line, with the HW510 and HW520 as the call-center defaults. For specialist work there is the SupraPlus SDS 2490 for 911 and radio dispatch, the SSP 2715 for staying live on two lines, and the PTH100, built with shielded cords for SpectraLink handsets.

Frequently Asked Questions
Spare Plantronics CS540 and Savi headsets are sold on their own for adding a second headset or replacing a lost one. A spare only works with its matching base: a Savi 8240 or 8245 spare needs a Savi 8240 or 8245 base.
