Four connectors, one name: matching a quick disconnect headset to its cord

Poly QD is what most people mean by QD, and it is the plug on the EncorePro HW510 through HW720, the EncorePro 310 and 320, and the SupraPlus. Jabra builds its own, used on the Biz 1500, Biz 2300, Biz 2400 II, GN2124 and GN2125. Polaris is a separate Plantronics plug, sold here as the PW-series. Models ending in D use a six-pin digital QD that works only with Poly's DA90.

Poly states its QD models work with any Poly QD adapter, which is what makes a plantronics qd headset worth re-cording rather than replacing: it outlives the phone system underneath it. Swap the bottom cord and the same EncorePro moves from an analog phone to a USB port. A jabra qd headset behaves the same way inside Jabra's own range.

Call centers standardize on QD because agents change desks and phones get replaced.
