Description
This bundle puts two CS540 wireless headsets on one call, so a trainer can listen in on a new hire and both people can still walk away from the desk. A normal training cable only works with a cord, which usually means standing shoulder to shoulder. Here the trainer and trainee are both wireless, up to 350 feet from the base in a clear line of sight.
The included ZoomSwitch adapter has a separate mute button for each headset. Press a button down to mute that side, leave it up to stay live. Most trainers start muted, listen, and unmute only when they need to step in, which keeps the call sounding normal to the customer until the trainer speaks. Both headsets can also be live at once.
What range to expect
The 350-foot number is the line-of-sight rating. With walls and furniture in the way, plan on 75 to 100 feet, which is enough to grab a document or step into a hallway but not to cross a warehouse.
Comfort and wireless basics
At 21 grams, the CS540 is one of the lightest wireless headsets built for desk phones, and it converts between wearing styles: headband, ear loop, or an optional neckband. SoundGuard caps volume at 118 dBA to protect hearing over long call days. It runs on DECT at 1.9GHz, a band reserved for voice, so it doesn't compete with your Wi-Fi, and calls are digitally encrypted.
Answering away from the desk
Each headset has one-touch answer, end, mute and volume. To answer or end a call while you're away from the desk, you'll need a Plantronics HL10 handset lifter, sold separately. It works with most desk phones, so call us with your model before you order.
