The Blackwire 3315 handles the desk and the phone

You take your work calls on a laptop and your other calls on a cell phone, and right now that means a headset for one and earbuds for the other. The Poly Blackwire 3315 collapses that into a single headset. It's the mono USB headset from Poly's 3300 series with one addition that changes what it's for: a 3.5mm connector that plugs into a phone or tablet.

That makes the 3315 the on-the-go member of the family. It plugs into your computer over USB — A or C, your choice — and into a mobile device over 3.5mm, folds flat, and travels in the included pouch. It comes in a standard UC version and a Microsoft Teams-certified one.

What the 3315 adds over the 3310

Start with the Blackwire 3310 — the comfortable 3300-series mono headset — and the 3315 adds three things: a 3.5mm connector for phones and tablets, a leatherette ear cushion that folds flat, and a travel pouch. Same padded headband, same pillow-soft comfort, same plug-and-play USB. The difference is that the 3315 is built to leave the desk.

Blackwire 3315
USB for the computer plus a 3.5mm connector for phones and tablets. Folds flat, ships with a travel pouch, leatherette cushion. For hybrid and mobile users.
Blackwire 3310
USB only, foam cushion, no pouch. For a fixed desk where every call comes through the computer. Slightly cheaper.

None of that adds bulk. The Blackwire 3315 weighs about 102 grams, the speaker pivots a full 180 degrees so the headset lies flat, and the whole thing tucks into the pouch — light to wear through a day of calls, easy to drop in a bag between them.

Build the exact Blackwire 3315 you need

Three versions, split by two choices: which USB plug matches your computer, and whether you want the Microsoft Teams button. All three include the 3.5mm connector and the travel pouch.

  • USB-A, UC (76J12AA). The standard USB-A plug for most desktops and older laptops. Works with every major softphone. The everyday office pick.
  • USB-C, UC (76J14AA). The USB-C plug for newer laptops, MacBooks, and USB-C devices. Same softphone compatibility. Pick this if your computer uses USB-C.
  • USB-A, Microsoft Teams certified (8M3U5AA). The USB-A version with a dedicated Teams button and certification — bring Teams to the front and join meetings with one press. The pick for a Teams-first office on USB-A.

Will the 3.5mm jack work with your phone?

The Blackwire 3315's 3.5mm connector works with any phone or tablet that still has a 3.5mm headset jack. The catch is that many recent phones — most current iPhones and a lot of newer Androids — have dropped the 3.5mm jack entirely, and those need a USB-C or Lightning adapter to use it.

Before you count on the mobile side of the Blackwire 3315, check your phone for a 3.5mm headset jack. Plenty of business phones, tablets, and older handsets still have one, and the 3315 plugs straight in. But if your phone connects everything over USB-C with no separate headphone jack, you'll need an adapter — the 3315's 3.5mm plug won't fit it directly. It's the one thing worth confirming before buying for mobile use.

Mono, and what "noise-canceling" means here

Like the rest of the 3300 mono line, the Blackwire 3315 is single-ear — one ear stays open for awareness of the room — and its "noise-canceling" describes the microphone, which keeps your background out of the caller's ear rather than blocking sound for you. For both-ears focus with the same 3.5mm connectivity, the stereo Blackwire 3325 is the equivalent.

The Blackwire 3315 is the headset for anyone whose calls don't all come from one device — comfortable enough for a full day on the computer, ready for the phone over 3.5mm, and packed to travel. Pick your USB plug and your platform, and it's plug-and-play on both, backed by HeadsetPlus's lifetime support.

Software. The Blackwire 3315 works with every major softphone and UC platform — Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex, Avaya, and Cisco among them — on both Windows and Mac, and it's pre-configured for Teams and Zoom so it works without a software download. Poly Lens (Plantronics Hub) manages settings and firmware. The Teams-certified version adds a one-press Teams button.

Hardware. The headset connects to a computer over USB-A or USB-C, depending on the version, and to a mobile phone or tablet over 3.5mm — but only devices that still have a 3.5mm headset jack. Phones without one need an adapter. The inline module carries the call controls.

Platforms. The Blackwire 3315 suits hybrid and mobile workers who move between a computer and a phone, and large-office VoIP deployments that want one comfortable, portable headset across the fleet.
