Plantronics CA12CD-S is a wireless PTT (push-to-talk) 6-wire headset adapter equipped with an analog console cable (PJ-7), designed to provide wireless encrypted communications and PTT functionality for applications such as Public Safety Dispatch and Air Traffic Control.

What'st he difference between the old and the new Plantronics CA12CD-S?  The new CA12CD-S  has improved sound quality compared to the older CA12CD that's been around for 20+ years.  There is a second subscription button in the back of the base.  The new model also allow more units to be used in the same room without interference. There are different colored buttons on the base of the CA12CD-S and on the PTT remote units so users can easily/visually see if they have the new S model.

Important Note:  Remote and Base units from the old CA12CD will not pair with those from the CA12CD-S, The new CA12CD-S will have grey push-to-talk button to distinguish from the older CA12CD
